One Night I Just Quit Smoking
I quit smoking about 1:30am one stormy June night in 1976. I was reading a good book and noticed I had run out of cigarettes. I wasn't pleased about getting down the muddy driveway, probably falling in the process and then driving clear across town to get more cigarettes. I said, "I'm not going to let a paper tube filled with ground up weeds rule my life anymore! I quit!" I have had exactly one puff on a cigarette since (it made me sick). I've been smoke free for 32 years.
